Genocide, genocide, genocide genocide, PLEASE call it what it is. Slaughtering an entire people is not a war. I'm glad to see the tide turning slightly, but why did it have to be the threat of death and destruction coming to our door for us to suddenly care? I'm with Ms. Rachel. All the worlds children are our children. And an attack on one is an attack on all. Protect the Palestinian people and the other civilians in the region who are standing up to Israel.

I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised to hear actual criticism of Israel coming from members of the same Congress that has sent billions to murder Palestinians in what is universally recognized as a genocide. I guess there was never any risk of Americans being harmed by wiping out all of Palestine, but trying to do the same to Iran creates enough risk to provoke a reaction. The fact that it's considered perfectly fine to blow up hospitals and lure kids with food and then shoot them is painful to consider, but I'm going to take some solace in the possibility that maybe it's not considered OK to attempt to start a World War and put some Americans in harm's way.

I'll take Peace over war every day.

It only takes 20 long months of genocide, the mass murders of thousands upon thousands children and innocent people of Gaza to change the minds of some US Congress members. I hate to be cynical, but I'm wouldn't count on any major changes of direction from any of them. The Dems and Republican alike take massive amounts of money from AIPAC and the MIC lobbyists. Why would they do something like stop arming Israel now that would prevent them from receiving those big checks?

why, indeed. in whose interest is it to now express such a pang of conscience? obliterating Gaza, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria is acceptable, but Iran is one too far...?

Gaza, Lebanon and Syria were all basketcases, in disarray, and with no credible ability to defend themselves - or create consequences for the Empire economically. Iran just entered a pact with Russia. China relies upon them for oil. A few in Congress, appear to be waking up to the reality that this is likely to destabilize the Global economic system, and international security and relations, too.

As long as Trump abandons Bibi and turns on Israelis, there might be hope for Gaza. I’ll take it. It’s easier for weenie Dem lawmakers to abandon Israel with republicans in power.

Wouldn’t it be great to see Congress pass a bill prohibiting American military or naval forces being sent to the Mideast at this time for any reason! Wouldn’t that prevent the maga-nazi regime from sending a navy ship over to get ambushed like the SS Liberty?

Isn’t it Congress, not the president, that has the Constitutional power of declaring war?

Dissent in Congress over America’s support for Israel is turning up in places I didn’t expect. I’m glad to see that dissent grow.

After Biden's craven groveling before Netanyahu, Harris's Joy & Genocide Campaign and the knowledge that my entire congressional squad is on AIPAC's payroll I just can't see voting for Democrats again. On top of they are ignorant. They pat themselves on the back for being antisemitic while supporting genocide of Palestinian semites on behalf of Immigrants from Eastern Europe. They wonder why there is so much violence in the US and don't realize they are the source. The society is upside down. The violence spreads from the population to the psychologically vulnerable in society.

AIPAC is of course a huge influence, as is the strategic position of Israel with regard to the West's demand for oil and other resources in the Mideast. But the most frightening possibility of all may be that Israel is able to wreak havoc on multiple nations at once because of what Seymour Hersh called "The Samson Option."

Israel has nuclear weapons, which they have promised to use if they feel they are under "existential threat." These weapons would be used not only against a nuclear-armed enemy, or even exclusively a non-nuclear enemy, or, indeed, exclusively enemies. Like the Biblical character of Samson, Israel plans to take down the entire temple. "If we fall, all will fall." Recently leaked documents show plans to attack Moscow, Beijing, Washington DC and London.

And we wonder why no one stops the genocide. A rogue state with nuclear missiles pointed at the world's major cities considers it their God-given right to commit genocide against Palestine, bomb other nations at will, and bring the world to the edge of destruction. And a madman named Netanyahu has his finger on the button.

Sleep well.
