Today, nations in the Global South are urgently calling for diplomacy to end the war before it escalates into a full-scale conflict between Russia and the United States, with the existential danger of a world-ending nuclear war.
Why in the hell did you invite two people running cover for the genocides and wars that Eritrea have committed to in your sit in event? Absolutely shameful.
During the sit in, during the rally in DC just days ago, two speakers engaged in Eritrean genocide and war cover ups by saying that their country is just fighting for their own independence against colonialism. Very conveniently leaving out the fact that Eritrea routinely finds their soldiers around Africa committing acts of genocide and destruction, still having presence in Ethiopia and Tigray.
Eritrea is a one party nationalist dictatorship, and the presence of two speakers performing apologetics for it at this event was an affront to all antiwar movements around the world.
If it were my event, I would have just focused on Ukraine--one single message calling for peace talks and a ceasefire. Alas, I was only a speaker not an organizer. Sorry
Authors’ views on colonialism are unclear and confusing. They are condemning US colonialism in Iraq, while also blaming the US for supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian colonialism. So, are the authors willing to tolerate colonialism at least in some cases? Partial answer may be gleaned from their treatment of the colonized. The article does not mention at all the role of the Iraqis or the Ukrainians in fighting the invaliding colonial powers. Such dismissal of the historical role of colonized peoples is typical for the colonial worldview.
This is the most honest and informative article I’ve read on the consequences of endless neocon wars of aggression. Thanks
Thanks, Medea and Nicolas: You are right on target. Peace is possible if we only knew it!

Not sure what you are referring to

Not just the US....Canada still fawningly hanging on to the US' coat tails!
